[ This is among one of the worst scenarios, and he wants to get rid of her almost solely because she causes a lump in his throat when he thinks about his annoying ass, but he carries on his chase, anyway.
He huffs when he gets to the stairwell though, wondering if he should go down it or not.
He's really confused now, because he knows he heard the stairwell door open, but he has no idea where she's ducked into. Sickening, actually, but whatever. ]
Are we playing hide-and-seek now?
[ Dito slams his fist against a nearby classroom door, just to see if it will elicit any reaction, honestly.
[none, but the slam tells her he's a bit far off. all she has to do is get to the other door, because trying to unlatch the window in here is fruitless. instead, she crouches to the far door, the one away from his direction. all she has to do is quietly, quietly undo it, slide it open just enough with care. and then dart around into the next classroom, 3-C. it's a big loop in her head, and it would work -
if her cane hitting the ground didn't give a familiar tap, tap when she moves quickly and ducks into the next room. even though she's hiding behind the desks again in the next room, that sound still is enough to give a direction, an idea of where Helena's chosen to hide. not as loud as striking the earth, but a sound that follows her unless she takes great pains for it to not do so.]
[ He peeks inside the classroom he's just slammed on for a few second, not finding anything interesting. He's positive if someone where there he'd be able to at least notice. He sighs through his nose in an annoyed way, walking up to the next door to exhibit the same slamming motion on it, albeit a little harder due to how irritated he's getting.
If he finds out about this, then Dito's really going to be in trouble.
That's when he hears the light tapping, and realizes she's moving again. Dito doesn't even bother with further slamming, instead starting to dart toward the area he last heard the tapping end -- it's dark, which is annoying, but Dito practically kicks the door open, anyway. He's pretty sure she's in this one, now. ]
The longer it takes for me to get you, the worse I'm gonna mutilate you. Just so you know.
[ He says, his voice between irritated and ecstatic. ]
[he's right, but he doesn't know where. never before has she been so grateful for her height. she's concealed behind the teacher's desk, crouched and perfectly still despite the fact that she's registering on some level that her ankle hurts like fire, that she only has one shot at this. what she needs is for him to go back to slamming doors, to telegraphing his location overtly.
in her mind, Helena knows what window she needs. one she had cracked earlier in the day herself, thinking that she might like a breeze. the janitor hasn't been through yet, so no one will have locked it - her hand covers her mouth, so she'll even breathe more quietly. her heart hurts, it's beating so hard.
unless he gets bored and leaves, she's got only the slimmest chance. there's no shelves tall enough that a particularly determined person to bring down on Dito's head, and she hasn't the strength to try and kill him in return. the void isn't an option for that reason alone. she'll have to use surprise, to burst out and go and risk injury, something -
there is a definite creak from the floorboards outside the classroom, a little ways down the hall. almost as if someone is trying to be sneaky and put a little too much weight on their step.
if Dito steps towards it, goes to see that direction -
it's simply the wandering black cat that stalks the halls, pausing to look at him and then skitter off.]
