"It's shaped like something mechanical, at the very least."
"It might be used as one but it does not seem to be designed that way. They do not spin very long on a flat surface but I've had some success balancing them on my fingertip."
She's so excited Helena, Eleanor loves this toy so much.
Carefully, Helena turns it to start it spinning, face growing thoughtful as she listens to the sound the whirring makes. And then flicking it again, and again.
...Yeah, she's entranced by it alright, if only because the sound reminds her a little bit of certain mechanical things she's heard before. Tracy hard at work improving her things, the remote whirring to life in her hands - she wonders what she'd make of it all.
"Perhaps someone wanted to spread their enjoyment as far as they could, and so they made them more accessible."
And she's from when celluloid is still rather a novelty. They can wonder over the new material together - there's an unique appreciation that people can just make things.
"If you find others near you when you play they may be staring at the toy. The motion is captivating - difficult to explain, but it has...it is rather like being entranced by a candle flame, or - yes, or recognizing a familiar song in the distance."
