Forgive me for being uncertain as to what exactly has happened, as I was out of the room at the time. All I managed to catch was that something highly distressing occured. However, I will not ask you to revisit something painful, so you may rest easy with that.
I do not believe you would harm me, but I understand that your opinion on the matter weighs most heavily. Please keep safe yourself.
Hello Helena Adams. I am Siffleur, a werecougar staying on this ship. Your roommate Erin made a deal with me that I will not prey on you. I need to know you by sight and smell so there are no unfortunate mistakes. What would be the most convenient place for us to meet up? Thank you.
[there's definitely going to be a pause before her replying, but a reply does come.]
Hello, Siffleur. Why don't we meet in the atrium's lounge? I am not sure if Miss Erin gave you a description of my appearance, but I have a cane, and I will be writing in a notebook. I'll be waiting for you there.
I'm about to hang some fliers around the ship and wanted to inform you in advance of what they say, so you don't feel left out. I'm offering 'Gentleman Lessons' in advance of the wedding, for those who may need a little help to feel comfortable donning a suit. Though, of course, ladies and those who are neither ladies nor gentlemen are welcome to attend as they see fit.
I'm not sure if or how this applies to you (though now that I'm picturing it, a suit would look quite dapper on you), but I wanted to be sure you didn't think I was being exclusionary by using a medium that isn't easy for you to access.
I greatly appreciate your courtesy for letting me know about the fliers. They would have completely skipped my notice entirely, though I would not have thought you excluding in the slightest. While I'm not certain what I'll be wearing to the wedding (and my wholehearted congratulations to all three of you!), if you let me know the time, I might attend out of curiosity more than anything else, should that be all right with you.
Additionally, if there is anything in the preparations I can help with for your nuptials, do let me know, and I will be happy to lend a hand.
Erin has a thoughtline for tonight's gossip section, and it involves no gossip whatsoever. When they've settled in and gotten ready for bed and all, ready to sit up and talk, Erin dances a little worry doll across her fingers, wrapped in twine.
"Helena..." Erin pauses. Then: "I'm gonna preface this by saying terms and conditions very much apply, including a time limit, but...what's your thoughtline on the idea that I could help you see? Not all the time, not permanently, but more than never and more than one time."
The expression that drifts across her features is deeply contemplative, perplexed but willing to hear Erin out.
"Truthfully, I've never even considered the prospect. Even though I know there's memory of sight somewhere in my head, the illness came when I was so young that as far back as I can recall, there's none of it to compare to."
The one who shocked you is Maximilien, one of the entirely inorganic passengers. He doesn't require an apology, but he asks that you not demonstrate that ability again unless it is an emergency.
It's a good thing she isn't drinking water or she'd have choked. Instead she immediately shifts like she still needs to get comfortable, desperately drafting a counter reply.
"...That's a rather interesting topic to start with. Are you asking because you're worried I'll be lonely or something while you no doubt have many plans?"
Flinging the question back is a good way to deflect, right.
The fleeing is accomplished before she's fully at the door, and she listens for a second - nothing - before opening it up. Her leg will nudge the box, so she can find it there.
Curiosity is strong, so she'll open it then and there, if she doesn't feel a label that might indicate it's for someone else.
"Miss Adams!" Eleanor is Respecting The Quiet Of The Library; though there's clear excitement in her voice her volume is quite low, though her shoes on the floor are louder than perhaps they have to be. "Miss Adams, I won something at the carnival that I think you may like. Can I entice you to hold out your hands?"
Fortunately, it's not private - and in her own shorthand, it's doubly safe.
"My memories. At least, the things that have been changed, with all this running about in other versions of ourselves. They feel almost like dreams, and like dreams, I'm worried I'll forget them. So I'm writing everything just in case that time comes."
[the amount that hearing this spoken aloud was an exercise in patience and perserverance is almost as remarkable as Grace writing it. a reading teacher though - who does she know that's sighted, who has the patience for literacy? this will take some thought.]
[which is a better answer than her true feelings of wanting to analyze every nuance of what was said.]
The pride event I've heard of, yes. Her presence is now another reason I am hesitant to come. I don't know what I'm supposed to do at that kind of event, what's expected, and I already know I might get in the way or some accident might happen.
[Helena had heard who the message was from, and promptly left it to be read the following day, as she was currently handling a very immediate and very French sort of problem. and when that was all smoothed over, and she realizes how many questions are in it, she has to make a decision for her own sanity.]
Some of these may be better answered in person. If you have the time, meeting with me might be better. I plan to look over the tommy bahama this afternoon, so you can find me there.
If Wayne were the type to gasp himself upright he might have as he's falling asleep. Fortunately for his roommate, he's quiet about it, though there's a clattering as he rolls himself out of bed to grab for his phone. It's not terribly late in the evening, he's just been listless and tired and trying to nap off some of the ennui. So much for that, when the realization hits him that he has something that he needs to give Helena before tomorrow.
hey you up?
Way less urgent-looking than he feels typing it...
